Amazon FBA Management
Amazon FBA Management Services
Restock planning, inbound shipments, storage fees, and lost-inventory cases, so the ads are not buying rank you cannot stay in stock to keep. Book a call or send the audit.
Amazon FBA management services cover how much to send, when it has to leave your warehouse, what it costs to store, and how stranded or lost units get back to saleable or reimbursed. SellTru runs that for brands doing $1M to $20M, next to the listings and the ads. We are an Amazon Ads Partner Network member. The primer is what Amazon FBA is. This page is the management.
FBA work usually sits inside Amazon account management, not in a spreadsheet nobody on the ad team sees. If inventory is the only fire, say that on the audit and we will scope it that way.
Inventory forecasting and restock limits
FBA inventory management here is weeks of cover by ASIN, updated from the sales you actually have. The inputs are ordinary and easy to skip: average daily sales, what happens to that rate when ads scale, supplier lead time, freight and Amazon check-in time, units already at FBA, and units already in transit. Safety stock covers the variance in that chain. It is not a round number someone liked in January.
Amazon also caps how much you can send. Restock limits follow your Inventory Performance Index and recent sales. The FBA guide notes an IPI line of 400 as of 2026. Below Amazon's current threshold, the next shipment can be blocked even when the product is labeled and waiting. A large purchase order does not create capacity.
Each week the list is short: ASINs that will stock out inside one lead time, ASINs holding more cover than you want to store, and any limit that will reject the next inbound. The same checks are on the audit checklist.
How stockouts get avoided: the flag goes up while there is still time to ship, ads are pulled back when cover cannot survive a spike, and the restock limit is checked before the factory is told to produce. We cannot repeal Amazon's cap. We can stop planning as if it were not there.
Inbound shipment planning
FBA shipment planning is the step that decides whether the forecast was real. We build the shipment around what the forecast says to send, not around whichever cartons happen to be on the dock. Carton contents, labeling, and the ship-to locations Amazon assigns have to match the workflow you chose, or the shipment sits in receiving while the listing stockout clock keeps running.
The 2026 Q4 checklist is blunt about timing. Holiday inventory has to be received before Amazon's inbound cutoffs, which means the shipment has to be created weeks earlier. A ship date that lands after the cutoff is a miss, even if the truck left "on time" by your calendar. We track received dates.
After check-in, we reconcile units you shipped against units Amazon received. A few missing units are noise. A pattern is a case. The audit checklist calls out unreconciled inbound shipments for that reason. An Amazon FBA management company that never opens those discrepancies is hoping Amazon's receiving team is perfect. It is not.
Storage and fee control
FBA is not one fee. Fulfillment, monthly storage, peak-season storage, aged inventory, returns processing, and low-inventory charges hit different SKUs for different reasons. Rates change. We do not reprint Amazon's rate card on this page. The FBA guide records the 2026 figures and tells you to confirm them in Seller Central and the Revenue Calculator before you commit capital. Management is acting on those fees.
- Cover targets so a slow ASIN is not sitting on half a year of stock.
- A removal or a markdown plan before aged-inventory surcharges stack up.
- A hard look at oversized and slow movers. The FBA guide is clear that those products often belong merchant-fulfilled, even when the hero ASIN stays in FBA.
- Ad plans that match the units you actually have, so you are not buying rank the week you stock out or paying to push a product that should be selling down.
The point is contribution margin per unit. A lower storage line that starves the ASIN customers already want is not a win. Neither is a full warehouse that looks like growth and bills like a storage unit.
Want the cover and the fee picture on your top ASINs? The audit reads inventory, not just the ad account.
Stranded and lost inventory recovery
Stranded inventory is product Amazon is holding that customers cannot buy: a suppressed listing, a deleted SKU, or a broken variation. You pay storage on units that cannot sell. Clearing that queue is part of the weekly pass, which is also how FBA work is described on the Amazon marketing page. When a listing goes dark, we use why Amazon sales drop.
Lost and damaged units are a different problem. Amazon does not always reimburse them on its own. Amazon lost inventory reimbursement, for us, means opening the case: warehouse losses, damaged units, and inbound shipments that checked in short. The audit checklist includes that review because the money is easy to leave unclaimed. We do not publish a recovery dollar amount. It depends on the account, and we are not going to invent one.
If the real problem is a suspended selling account rather than missing units, that work is a separate scope: Amazon account reinstatement. It is not part of this inventory retainer.
Q4 planning
Q4 inventory is a September problem. The 2026 checklist lists inbound deadlines for Prime Big Deal Days and for Black Friday week, including the difference between Amazon Warehousing and Distribution and FBA, and between minimal shipment splits and Amazon-optimized splits. We run the account against received dates on that list, then check that deals and ad budgets are pointed at ASINs that will actually be in stock.
Peak storage pricing runs well past December. Before the season we agree which ASINs to push, which to let sell down, and what the bids should do when cover gets thin. A rank you cannot supply is a rank you rented.
FBA plus Walmart WFS
A lot of the brands we work with sell on both marketplaces. Walmart Fulfillment Services is Walmart's version of FBA: you send inventory in, Walmart picks and packs, and the listing can earn fulfilled-by-Walmart treatment. It is not a copy of your FBA shipment. Enrollment, item setup, and inbound steps are different, and the fees are different. See Walmart WFS management. The WFS guide compares the cost with FBA.
We do not automatically split FBA stock into WFS. The Walmart listing has to justify a second pile of inventory, and replenishment has to feed both without starving Amazon in Q4. When Walmart is in scope it sits with the same team. See the Walmart marketplace agency page.
If Q4 inventory is already late, start with the dates. We would rather tell you a cutoff has passed than sell a plan that cannot be received.
FAQ
What does FBA management include?
Forecasting and restock limits, inbound shipment planning, storage and aged-inventory control, stranded listing fixes, and reimbursement cases for units Amazon lost or damaged. Q4 is planned around inbound received dates. We do not run a prep center.
How do you avoid stockouts?
We track weeks of cover against your real lead time, including units already in transit, and we flag an ASIN while there is still time to ship. Restock limits can block a shipment even when the goods are ready, so the plan respects the cap. Ads are pulled back when cover cannot survive a spike.
Can you recover lost inventory?
We reconcile inbound shipments against what Amazon received, and we open cases for warehouse losses and damage that were not reimbursed. Stranded units, which are in the building but not buyable, get fixed so they can sell. We do not quote a recovery amount. It depends on the account.
Do you handle prep?
We plan and reconcile the shipment in Seller Central. We do not operate a prep center. Labeling, polybags, and carton prep stay with your warehouse or a prep partner you choose. We specify what receiving requires so the shipment does not fail check-in.
What does it cost?
FBA management is scoped on the same flat retainer as the rest of the account. We do not publish a separate monthly figure for it. Amazon's fulfillment and storage fees are paid to Amazon, not to SellTru. Retainer models are on the pricing guide. A one-time inventory review is something you can ask for on the audit.
The FBA guide stays the explainer, including fee figures that you should confirm live. This page is the ongoing work. Questions that are really about the whole channel belong on account management.
